A brief definition: Buddhism

In my view Buddhism is not a religion a blind faith in the dogmatic beliefs requires. Neither it is a philosophy that keeps us trapped in an idealized world, nor is it a cultural phenomenon that holds stubbornly to old traditions. In reality, Buddhism is a systematic method of practical training by the others and we free ourselves from self-suffering and true happiness can achieve. True happiness is achieved through the direct understanding of how things are, through the compassionate work for the ultimate happiness of others and by the confident development of our previously dormant capacity for enlightenment.
All this is based on the understanding of selflessness, which is the foundation of Buddhism.
